When you fill in the request form, you give your name, a way to reach you, the property's town or street address and a few lines about the basement. The site uses them for two jobs and no others: getting your request to be contacted into the hands of one independent local contractor, and answering notes sent through the contact form.

No request is ever sent to several contractors at once. Outside firms that host the pages and carry messages touch the data only as far as their service needs. Your details are never sold, rented or swapped for marketing; beyond that one contractor, they are disclosed only if a subpoena, court order or comparable legal process demands it.

Form requests stay on the hosting provider's servers so they can be handed to one contractor, and each is deleted 90 days after it comes in.

Like most web servers, the site's server writes routine logs: browser type, pages opened and the page that linked here. Nothing on the site depends on cookies.

Whatever you discuss with the contractor once it gets in touch falls under that company's privacy practices, not this page. The site is aimed at adults and does not knowingly take in details from children under 13. To view, fix or erase what the site holds about you, send a note through the contact form. Updated versions of this policy will carry a new date on this page. The law of Michigan governs this policy.
