This page is for homeowners in Saginaw, MI and nearby communities with a concern about Basement Waterproofing Saginaw MI, a free referral and advertising service, or about a contractor they heard from after sending a request.
For a problem on the site's side, like a request that went to the wrong place, mishandled details or a mistake on a page, send a note through the contact form. Say who you are, which town the property is in, about when the request went in and what went wrong. Each concern is reviewed and gets a reply.
The site never signs any basement contract, so it has no standing to settle a dispute between a homeowner and a contractor. Put any complaint about the work, the bill or the paperwork to the contractor first, in writing, and hold on to a copy.
When that fails, state and local offices can help. Consumer complaints go to the Consumer Protection team at the Michigan Attorney General's office: 517-335-7599, or toll-free 877-765-8388. LARA handles license matters, and anyone can look up a contractor's license on LARA's online license lookup.
Permit questions go to the office for the property's address: in the City of Saginaw, the Inspections Division at City Hall, 1315 S. Washington Ave.; in Bay City, MI, the Building Department, 989-894-8162; in Frankenmuth, MI, the Building Codes Authority, 989-652-3430; in Bridgeport Township, MI, the Building Official, 989-777-0940 ext. 215; in Thomas Township, MI, the Building Department, (989) 781-0150; and for Freeland, MI, Tittabawassee Township's Building Inspector, (989) 737-5756.
The site also wants to hear when a contractor that got in touch through it behaved poorly. A report can't win a refund or decide a dispute, but it counts when the site decides whether that business keeps advertising.
Michigan law applies to this complaints policy.
